Noatak National Preserve, a United States National Preserve, protects Noatak River Basin in northwest Alaska. The area around the Noatak River is home to some of the Arctic’s best assemblages of flora and fauna because it is one of the largest mountain-ringed river basins with an intact ecology in North America. The river is protected as a national wild and scenic river, providing spectacular opportunities for wilderness float trips from the heart of the Brooks Range to the Chukchi Sea.
