Lake Catherine State Park is nestled in the tranquil Ouachita Mountains. The beautiful Lake Catherine may be found in Lake Catherine State Park, in the scenic Ouachita Mountains. This lake covers an area of 1,940 acres, making it the largest of the famous Diamond Lakes in the Hot Springs region. The park’s lovely CCC/Rustic Style buildings were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s using local stone and wood.

There are 18 comfortable cabins lining the edge of the lake, many of which have fireplaces fueled by wood. The park also has the Polly Crews Cabin, modified for disabled guests and features a private fishing pier and boat dock. Visitors can enjoy guided walks, boat tours, seasonal events led by park interpreters, and access to a golf course, swimming pool, and restaurant in Diamondhead’s nearby private resort village.

Marinas at Lake Catherine State Park

During the warmer months, Lake Catherine State Park visitors can use the marina’s bait and fuel sales. Rental boats are available year-round so that guests can experience the lake’s natural beauty. The park has everything you want, including a boat launch, a standard pavilion, picnic areas, playground equipment, and laundry facilities. The tourist centre, which looks out over the pool and the wildlife center, also sells souvenirs, groceries, snacks, and even ice. Lake Catherine State Park’s marina services and amenities improve your lake exploration, relaxation, or outdoor activities.

Camping at Lake Catherine State Park

Camping at Lake Catherine State Park is fantastic, and there are many different spots to select. The park has 68 campsites, two designated as “Rent-A-Camp,” all overlooking the lake or the woods. Two of the park’s campgrounds were recently renovated. Area “C” of the campground spans along Lake Catherine and features 32 campsites, many right on the water. Camping Area “A” consists of 12 newly restored campsites on a nearby slope.

New roads, utilities, parking spots of increased length, and enhanced conveniences are among the upgrades. Class AAA campsites include full amenities like running water and electricity. Each campground has a tent pad, grill, lantern hook, and picnic table. Campsites accessible for people with disabilities are located close to the park’s restrooms. Lake Catherine State Park provides a beautiful setting for a relaxing camping trip.

Cabins at Lake Catherine State Park

Lake Catherine State Park offers comfortable cabins with scenic water views. Each cabin has a kitchen, air conditioning, and heating for six people. Picnic tables and barbecues allow outside dining. Cabins have restrooms, linens, dishes, and utensils. Cabins have no phones. The Polly Crews Cabin, a disabled-accessible cabin, is also available on the site.

Dam Mountain Trail

The Dam Mountain Trail at Lake Catherine State Park offers a scenic hiking experience. This trail takes hikers on a journey through the park’s beautiful surroundings, leading them to the summit of Dam Mountain. Along the way, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the lake and the surrounding Ouachita Mountains. Falls Branch Trail

The Falls Branch Trail at Lake Catherine State Park is a picturesque hiking trail that winds through lush woodlands. As hikers traverse this trail, they are greeted by the soothing sounds of rushing water and the enchanting beauty of the falls.

The trail follows Falls Branch Creek, leading visitors to a stunning waterfall. Hikers can spot various plant and animal species, making it an ideal trail for nature enthusiasts.
