The panorama is breathtaking, from the Pacific Ocean’s windy shore to the Kejulik Mountains’ jagged peaks and the world-famous volcano of Mt. Peulik.  The Becharof Lake ecosystem is responsible for one of the most productive runs of sockeye salmon in Bristol Bay, an important component of the region’s economic infrastructure. It is easy to see wild animals in Alaska, regardless of whether you are flying above the region, standing on the banks of a salmon stream, or trekking along the ancient Kanatak Trail.
