Butano State Park
Butano State Park is a destination that offers peace and seclusion because of its location within a canyon that is filled with redwood trees. History of Butano State Park
Butano State Park was established in 1957 to protect the majestic coast redwoods of California from being cut down. A tranquil canyon studded with majestic second and third-growth redwood trees, gurgling creeks, and more is now open to the public.
Over 4,000 acres of canyons and uplands can be explored over the park’s vast network of 40 kilometers of hiking trails. Hikers can expect to see oak woodlands, riparian regions, and sunny chaparral along the routes.
