Dagmar Wildlife Mgmt. Area is a large hardwood bottomland overflow area spanning approximately 800 acres, featuring a variety of lakes, ponds, sloughs, and bayous that create a unique ecosystem. Many small lakes and sloughs are in the area, including Bayou DeView, Robe Bayou, Hickson Lake, Gator Pond, Bowfin Overflow, Straight Lake, Apple Lake Waterfowl Rest Area, and countless others. Fish, ducks, and reptiles rely on these ponds, lakes, and streams for various important reasons, including breeding, feeding, and shelter.
