Hiking At Fremont Ford State Park

The magnificent Fremont Ford State Park can be discovered by hiking along one of the park’s fourteen designated paths. You can pick up trail directions at the Museum and Visitor Center in Fremont Ford State Park. The Parade of Rock Art is the most well-known and often visited of these paths. This trail, accessible by wheelchair, surrounds the museum and features numerous rock art panels.

You can get lost in the enthralling tale of Spider-Woman and other Creation mythology and hunting stories in just 15 minutes. On the journey, watch for the Fremont and Paiute petroglyphs. Fremont Ford State Park is honoured to be named one of the Top 50 Hiking Destinations in the United States, with trails ranging from a quarter mile to five miles.

Camping At Fremont Ford State Park

Castle Rock Campground in Fremont Ford State Park is the best option for a fun and exciting camping trip with the whole family. There are 31 campsites, each with a barbecue grill, picnic table, and fire pit. There are plenty of pull-through sites, and the surrounding creek only enhances the area’s natural beauty. It’s no surprise that Castle Rock Campground is considered one of the best campgrounds for families in the United States.

Biking At Fremont Ford State Park

The Four Creeks Loop is an exhilarating mountain biking experience. Starting from the Fremont Museum, you’ll ride Highway 13, enjoying stunning Mill Creek and Clear Creek views. The gradual ascent takes you to 6,700 feet, with breathtaking canyon cliffs on both sides.

Follow Road 114 and the Painte ATV Trail for 8 kilometres, passing under the I-70 bridge and reaching Shingle Creek. Climb pinyon pine and juniper trees to the Tushar Mountains—Fish Creek and a rock crevice lead to Mud Flat. Finally, return to Mill Creek along I-70. Bike this 16-mile loop to explore nature.

The curve of Sargent Mountain

The Sargent Mountain Loop offers a challenging and scenic bike ride. Starting across Highway 13 from the Park Museum, you’ll ride under the Interstate 70 overpass and through Tushar Mountain Village. Cross six fords along Dry Creek as you ascend to an elevation of 8,300 feet.

Enjoy the diverse flora, geology, and stunning vistas along the way. The loop takes you past Willow Lake and can be completed in about an hour, covering six miles. It’s a rewarding journey for bikers seeking adventure and natural beauty.
