Lake Chicot State Park

Lake Chicot State Park is a state park in Arkansas centred on Lake Chicot, the largest natural lake in the state. This gorgeous oxbow lake is twenty miles long, providing a quiet location ideal for fishing, boating, and birdwatching. The crappie, bass, bream, and catfish found in lakes are popular angling targets. Also, common catches include bream and catfish. You may go birdwatching at the park anytime because it is home to many birds.

Lake cruises, levee explorations, and park facilities, including barbecue pits, cabins, water slides, and tent sites, are all available to visitors. The marina and convenience store has everything you need, from food and gifts to boat rentals. Visiting the tourist centre is a great way to gain insight into the rich history and culture of the area.

Cabins at Lake Chicot State Park

Staying in one of Lake Chicot’s lovely cabins will make your vacation more memorable. Sofa beds, fireplaces, full kitchens, bathrooms with showers, air conditioning/heating, and satellite TVs are all standard. Each cabin features a stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, iron, and ironing board. Blankets, pillows, towels, and linens are included. Each cottage is equipped with a barbecue, picnic table, and telephone. Cabins on the lake include fishing docks that visitors of all cabins can use, and all cabins are accessible to those with disabilities.

Camping at Lake Chicot State Park

Beautiful pecan trees provide shade for campers in Lake Chicot. The park contains 122 campsites, ranging from “Premium A” to “Standard C,” so campers can find something that fits their needs. Cottages with full kitchens are also available for rent. There are excellent facilities for park guests, including a swimming pool, picnic spaces, pavilions, and a marina store selling food, souvenirs, fuel, and bait. Launch ramps, engines, boats, and other watercraft are all available for rent. You can hire bicycles and view historical displays at the visitor centre.

Fishing at Lake Chicot State Park

Anglers flock to the upper end of Lake Chicot in the spring and fall to cast their lines in search of crappie, bass, and bream. Having such a wide variety of fish to target will keep anglers entertained. Further, catfish may be caught any time of the year, giving anglers a constant food source. Lake Chicot is a great place to go fishing because it has plenty of good areas to throw a line from both the water and the land and because of the large fish that can be caught there. The Lake Chicot Loop Trail offers a scenic path that encircles the beautiful Lake Chicot. Hikers can immerse themselves in the area’s natural beauty while enjoying stunning lake views.

The trail provides an opportunity to explore diverse ecosystems and observe wildlife, making it a delightful adventure for nature enthusiasts of all ages.

South to North Landing Trail

The South to North Landing Trail takes hikers on a journey from the southern to the northern landing of Lake Chicot. This trail offers a captivating trek through picturesque landscapes, providing opportunities to appreciate the area’s natural beauty. As hikers traverse the trail, they can enjoy the serene ambience of the lake and the surrounding flora and fauna, creating a memorable outdoor experience.
