Camping At Malibu Creek State Park
There are many places to stay at the Malibu Creek State Park Group Campground. The campground is conveniently located near the park’s principal features and hiking routes. It’s not the most luxurious campground, but it has 63 sites, flush toilets, and hot showers, so it gets the job done.
The campsite has several accessible sites for campers who use wheelchairs. R.V.s up to 30 feet in length are welcome, as well. A dumping station is available for campers’ use. It is also possible to schedule generator use for certain times of the day. There is a separate campground for larger groups planning to visit the park. Hot showers, flush toilets, and plenty of grassy areas to hang out in at this campground may be requested in advance.
Reagan Ranch at Malibu Creek State Park
This magnificent property in Malibu Creek State Park was the home of Ronald and Nancy Reagan from 1957 to 1967. Today, you can visit this property, located on a gorgeous hilly grassland. It has more than 700 kilometres of equestrian routes. The Reagan Ranch’s headquarters are located in the renovated stables, which feature numerous artefacts and photographs relating to the Reagan family and the ranch’s history.
Mesa Peak Hiking Trail at Malibu Creek State Park
The park is a great place to break in your hiking boots, as there are several routes to explore. The Mesa Peak Hiking Trail is among the most travelled paths in the area. The ascent to the peak may be difficult for some, but the payoff in breathtaking vistas is well worth the effort.
Malibu Lagoon State Beach at Malibu Creek State Park
Surfrider Beach is a great spot to go if you want to ride some great waves, and while it isn’t officially in Malibu Creek State Park, it’s close enough. In addition to being a great place to picnic and enjoy saltwater fishing, it is also a great place to see birds, especially during migration. The light here is best for shooting around dawn and dusk.
Adamson House at Malibu Creek State Park
Adamson House is a must-see for anyone with even a passing interest in architecture. This magnificent building dates back to 1929, when it was still known as Vaquero Hill. The elaborate handmade tiles adorn its walls, one of its most striking features.
Over a hundred artisans worked on these magnificent tiles, which feature patterns inspired by the Moors, the Maya, the Saracens, and the Persians. A dog bathtub and other beautiful fountains also stand out. Having a docent lead you through the house is the greatest way to see everything it offers.
Malibu Pier at Malibu Creek State Park
The Malibu Pier is another well-liked attraction there. The historic pier, which has just undergone restoration, offers a beautiful beachfront experience reminiscent of the old Riviera in the United States. You may fish, surf, and eat at the pier in one convenient location. Dolphins are another possible sighting out on the sea.
