Camping at Mount Magazine State Park
Cameron Bluff Campground
Cameron Bluff Campground is a picturesque camping destination in Mount Magazine State Park, Arkansas. Nestled on the bluff of Mount Magazine, this campground offers a serene and scenic setting for outdoor enthusiasts. With well-maintained campsites, visitors can enjoy a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature’s beauty. The campground provides convenient access to various recreational activities, including hiking, biking, and wildlife watching.
Arkansas Camping at Mount Magazine
Campers will find all the amenities they need at Mount Magazine State Park’s campground, originally known as the USDA Forest Service’s Cameron Bluff Campground. Water, electricity, and sewage hookups are available at each of the 18 campsites. The campground has a new, handicapped-accessible bathhouse with hot showers and flush toilets. An RV disposal station is also available for campers’ use.
Mount Magazine Horse Camp
Mount Magazine Horse Camp is a designated tent and horse trailer camping spot within the state park. Although underdeveloped, plans call for up to 21 modern campsites to be built specifically for campers who bring horses. This campsite is conveniently located at the beginning of the 34-mile-long Huckleberry Mountain Horse Trail maintained by the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service. Mount Magazine Horse Camp is ideally situated for equestrian sports, and its prospective campers can expect to have a great time there.
Lodge at Mount Magazine State Park
The spectacular Lodge at Mount Magazine opened its doors in May 2006, adding to the already existing 13 park cottages. These luxurious quarters are located on the south cliff of Mount Magazine and have breathtaking vistas. These cutting-edge establishments continue a century-old custom of providing lodging on the mountain. In the same spot since the 1940s, the United States Forest Service lodge was regrettably destroyed by fire in 1971.
Bicycling at Mount Nebo State Park

The Huckleberry Mountain Trail is a challenging 34-mile route for mountain bikers from Mount Magazine into the beautiful Ozark National Forest. This trail was built with several users in mind, making it a hit with everyone from horseback riders and ATV enthusiasts to hikers and cyclists. Cyclists can ride across creeks and see the beauty in both directions on three loops between Mount Magazine and Huckleberry Mountain. Cyclists can camp in a national forest along the trail and get close to nature.
Cycling on the Road
Mount Magazine State Park’s beautiful bike paths will surely please road cyclists. Bicyclists can take advantage of the mountain top’s many kilometers of bike lanes, beginning at the lodge and continuing down the scenic Camaron Bluff route to the park’s visitor centre.
With its mild inclines and refreshing mountain air, this route is perfect for cyclists of all abilities. You can rent bicycles at the lodge if you need to get your own.
