Navarro River Redwoods State Park

Navarro River Redwoods State Park

Navarro River Redwoods State Park includes 660 acres (2.7 km2) of second-growth redwood forest in Mendocino County, California. The park stretches about 11 miles (or 18 km) along the Navarro River from its source in the town of Navarro to its mouth on the Pacific Ocean.

Highway 128 suddenly enters a redwood tunnel that runs eleven miles straight to the coast. The road has just finished its winding journey through Anderson Valley and a landscape of gently undulating hills.

Along the Navarro River, you may see a beautiful redwood forest. Navarro River Redwoods State Park visitors may enjoy camping, swimming, and picnicking at the Paul M. Demmick campsite. The park sees a surge in visitors from individuals interested in canoeing, kayaking, and fishing in the late winter and spring. The entire length of the park is covered in redwood forests of second growth. Raccoons, black-tailed deer, and birds drawn to rivers, such as the belted kingfisher, make their homes in these areas.
